Whether you are student athlete, a rec league participant or you make your living on playing a sport, you deserve a provider who understands sports injuries and can work to get you off the sidelines and back into the action as quickly as possible. Frederick W. Parker, III, MD, and Scott Ross, MD, have devoted much of their careers to serving athletes at all levels. From our office in Manassas and Linton Hall, they regularly diagnose and treat sports injuries including overuse injuries, joint dislocations, and muscle sprains and strains.
A concussion is one of the more serious, and most frequently overlooked, sports injuries you can get. Both Dr. Parker and Dr. Ross specialize in concussion diagnosis and management.
In our Manassas and Linton Hall offices, they offer ImPACT. This 20-minute battery of tests assesses and measures the effects of sports-related concussions. Baseline and post-injury testing are compared to determine the cumulative impact of concussions. ImPACT can determine whether an athlete is ready to return to action, potentially protecting them from further injury that could occur if activity is resumed too soon.
Before you or your child participates in a sport, a physical exam will likely be required. This is to make sure you or your child can safely take part without risking injury or hurting others. Sports physicals can often be completed at the same time as other preventive exams.
Call the office of your choosing to schedule a sports physical. Please bring any forms you need completed with you as well will not have access to those forms.
Please note: if additional testing is required that is not included in your regular office visit, or if you need to schedule a separate visit to have a sports physical form completed, there will be an additional charge for these services.
If you think you may have broken or fractured a bone, let our Linton Hall office help you with our on-site x-ray services.
