Whether you are student athlete, a rec league participant or you make your living on playing a sport, you deserve a provider who understands sports injuries and can work to get you off the sidelines and back into the action as quickly as possible. Our primary care sports medicine providers are dedicated to caring for athletes at all levels. From our Linton Hall office, they regularly diagnose and treat sports injuries including overuse injuries, sprains, muscle strains, joint pain, concussions and non-surgical fractures. Other specialized services include:
- Regenerative medicine techniques - platelet-rich plasma injections
- Ultrasound guided injections
- Prolotherapy (injections)
- Endurance & performance medicine for distance runners/triathletes
- Osteopathic manipulative medicine for certain diagnoses
A concussion is a serious injury and recovery should be managed by a concussion specialist. We offer ImPACT and XLNT Brain neurocognitive testing that can assess the effects of concussion and how symptoms are effecting everyday activities such as memory and reaction time. Comparing baseline and post-injury tests are one of the tools used to help determine when an athlete is ready to safely return to play or activity.
Before you or your child participates in a sport, a physical exam will likely be required. This is to make sure you or your child can safely take part without risking injury or hurting others. Please be sure to bring all needed forms to your appointment, including the updated version of the VHSL physical form.
Call the office of your choosing to schedule a sports physical. Please bring any forms you need completed with you as well will not have access to those forms.
Please note: if additional testing is required that is not included in your regular office visit, or if you need to schedule a separate visit to have a sports physical form completed, there will be an additional charge for these services.
If you think you may have broken or fractured a bone, let our Linton Hall office help you with our on-site x-ray services.
